Hi, I’m Lauren.

I’m a parent educator. By day, I teach ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) classes for a school district where I meet with parents week after week as they figure out their kids. The rest of the time, I’m a mom myself. I started Parent Tapestry because I kept hearing the same thing from the parents I worked with: I just need someone to talk to. Not an algorithm. Not a hot take. A real person who has seen this before.

I came to this work the way a lot of people come to the things they love: sideways. I trained as an adult ELL teacher, which taught me how to facilitate adult learners with respect and patience. When I had my son, I started attending ECFE classes with him, and something clicked. The parts of parenting that felt complicated and draining for other parents felt interesting to me. I wanted to learn more. I went back for my Master’s and Parent Education license, and I haven’t looked back.

I’ve worked with hundreds of parents and children over my career. I’ve seen patterns. I’ve also seen the limits of patterns; every child is their own person, and every family weaves its own particular tapestry. That’s what we’ll work on together.
